We Get Thanks

Some of the “Thank You” correspondence we receive...

Over the years, the Leprechauns have received many letters and cards of thanks and gratitude from children, families and hospital staff—here are just a few.

Annual Rainbow Sickle Cell Community Day...

We had a fabulous day at our annual Rainbow Sickle Cell Community Day! This is a fun day when we leave all the medical talk in the clinic!

The over 150 patients and family members who attended had fun doing all the different activities. Some got their faces painted; others visited with Disney characters or chose to make music outside. But everyone enjoyed the lunch before visiting with the community agencies and picking up their free backpack filled with school supplies.

It was a day of smiles and laughter by all. Rainbow's Sickle Cell Team thanks the Leprechauns for assisting with funds to allow this day to happen. We couldn't do it with out you!

Rainbow Sickle Cell Anemia Center—Sickle Cell Community Day...

I cannot say thank you enough for the funds that the Leprechauns provided to the Rainbow Sickle Cell Anemia Center that helped to fund our Sickle Cell Community Day. We had over 160 patients and family members enjoy a fun day where medical talk was not allowed!

Folks enjoyed lunch, fun activities and gathered information form various community agencies before the children collected their backpacks filled with school supplies.

The cookies were also a hit at the event and also on the inpatient floor.

Thank you again. Without your assistance, this wonderful day could not have happened.

Church of the Holy Angels...

Church of the Holy Angels

It was a great pleasure to present you with our donation of $1,114.75 to help you with your efforts in making children’s lives brighter. The combined musical talents of the Holy Angels Choir and the Singing Angels made this possible. Our “Angels and Angels” Concert, held on March 15, 2014 at Solon High School Auditorium, was a special night for all of the 160 singers. The music was spectacular! But what made it even more wonderful for all of the performers was realizing that it was going to benefit children!

I have been to several of your Leprechaun Foundation events over the past many years, so I was very happy to get to choose the charities for the concert. What you do is so wonderful, so important. We hope you can use these funds in some special ways.

Warmest Wishes,

Christie Dilisio

Year after year the Leprechauns help provide Christmas and joy throughout the holiday season. You adopted 15 families from the MetroHealth community in 2013 and provided items from the family’s wish lists. So many families had Christmas this year because of the Leprechauns.

Leprechauns Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day...

Thank you so much for the cookies. I need to say that Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital “counts” on your generosity to offer these sweet remembrances of holidays to our families. We so appreciate our long standing relationship with the Leprechauns.

There were plenty for everyone and of course many went with Lisa Perry to the Seidman Pediatrics Outpatients. I had to have one too! Yum.

Sincerely,

The patients, students and staff love them so much that they don’t last very long—not even long enough to take a picture. I’ll try to be quicker and get pictures on St. Patrick’s Day. Thanks Leprechauns.

Sara’s Ride...

Sara Hudson

By Debbie DiBlasi – Hospital & Wish Chairperson

That recent phone call came on a Wednesday, from a hospice social worker with a frantic request. One of her patients, a 10-year-old girl named Sara Hudson, was dying. Sara very much wanted to go to Mama Santa's in Little Italy with her family and friends. When asked why she had wanted to go to Mama Santa’s, her mom said because her grandparents would take her there after chemotherapy when she was feeling good enough to eat, and pasta and meatballs were her favorite. Musical Magic...

Donnie and his mom

By Debbie DiBlasi – Hospital & Wish Chairperson

I received a call from Cara Foster, she’s one of the newest Child Life workers at Rainbow Babies’ and Children's Hospital. She had a young man on the transplant list. He was waiting for four organs and was always in the hospital. The staff had come to know him and his passion for the guitar. More…
