August is here along with the dog days of summer. By now I believe we’ve had more 90-degree days than all last year. School will be starting soon, and most kids look forward to it, even if it’s just to see friends that they’ve missed during the summer.
As summertime activities are winding down, we’re looking for donations to help the children we serve along with their families. We hope we can appeal to your generosity, as it would really be great if you could donate.
Donations will also help with a rooftop playhouse currently being built at the new MetroHealth Medical Center hospital. We’re donating the total proceeds of $5,670 of this year’s Assumption Academy St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Fair to get this project started, but more funding is needed.
We all know money is tight and we’re all feeling the pinch of higher interest rates and an inflation rate that’s the highest in years. This impacts families with terminally and chronically ill children even more as most are already struggling to deal with doctor visits, treatments, and additional medical costs.
Wishing you a safe and enjoyable August with sunshine and happiness, from the Leprechauns and all those we serve.
